Services Offered
We believe that people addicted to opiates can live independent and positive lives. The purpose of the medicated assisted treatment program is to provide medication that stabilizes brain activity, which allows those in treatment to begin recovery. Our medication treatment is reinforced with individual and group therapy and case management services to address the patient’s entire lifestyle.
Admission Criteria
The program provides voluntary admission to those who are currently addicted to an opiate drug and have been addicted for at least one year. Exceptions include pregnant women, persons released from penal institutions within six months, and prior patients. The admission criteria may be waived for these exceptions. Persons under the age of 18 require special admission approval. All patients are assessed and approved by a physician.
Services
We work with each patient to develop a customized treatment plan. Our services provide patients the resources they need for recovery including:
• Physical examinations, blood work and communicable disease testing
• Stabilization on medication, either methadone or buprenorphine (Suboxone)
• Methadone maintenance/taper
• Daily dosing (Monday – Saturday)
• Individual and group therapy
• Drug screens
• Coordination with residential treatment
• Auricular acupuncture
What is Methadone?
Methadone is the gold seal standard treatment for opioid addiction. When taken as prescribed, it is safe and will not cause any damage to the body or mind, even taken daily for several years. It is, however, a powerful medication and can be dangerous to people who do not take it regularly, therefore, methadone dispensing is carefully monitored, regulated and controlled. Methadone is long-acting; patients only need one dose every 24 hours. Methadone does not affect a person’s ability to work, drive, go to school or care for their family.
Convenient Location
