Health Center Invites Community to Ribbon Cutting

Hastings, MI – A special preview, reception, and tours of the new Barry Community Health Center will be offered to the community on Monday, December 4, 2017. The official ribbon cutting ceremony will occur at 10:30 a.m. inside the new facility at 200 S Boltwood St, in Hastings, Michigan, next to Ace Hardware. Representatives from Barry County, the City of Hastings, project funding partners and leaders from Cherry Health will make remarks.

Barry Community Health Center will begin offering the first phase of health services on Monday, December 11, 2017. This $1,334,000 project will have a substantial impact on health care access in Barry County. Capacity to serve the community will be nearly doubled, accommodating 3,500 patients. Medical services offered at the center will include family practice, dental, and behavioral (mental) health services. The availability of dental services is largely funded by a $200,000 grant from the Delta Dental Foundation, which covers the cost of dental equipment for five operatories – answering a high need for Barry County.

“Cherry Health is excited to bring fully coordinated care for our Barry patients under one roof,” remarked Chris Shea, CEO, Cherry Health. “Offering integrated care for individuals and families – medical doctors, dentists, therapists, dieticians all working together to make sure our neighbors live their best life – this is the excellence for which Cherry Health is known.”

Additional community supporters of this project include The DeCamp Foundation & Flexfab, LLC, Barry Community Foundation, The Baum Family Foundation, The Bolthouse Family and supporters of Cherry Health Foundation. The last phase of the project includes funds available to match donations from the community, up to $285,000. To donate, interested potential donors may contact Anna Clifford, Director of Development, Cherry Health Foundation at 616.956.8217 for more information.
