April 11, 2016 (Grand Rapids Business Journal) – A nonprofit health care provider has created a new position in its human resources department to provide network-wide leadership to its staff.
Grand Rapids-based Cherry Health said last month that it has hired Cheryl Goodell to serve as its first chief HR development officer.
Goodell will be responsible for providing leadership in developing HR strategies that support the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization.
Her initial focus will be on talent and change management, staff development and organizational and performance management.
A Cherry Health representative said Goodell is currently getting to know the organization’s staff, which consists of 830 people, as well as visiting its more than 20 health centers and office locations.
“I joined Cherry Health to strategically drive their development initiatives, aligned with the business plan, ultimately supporting their mission and vision,” Goodell said.
