GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Cherry Street Health Services will host a free Healthy Michigan enrollment event on Thursday, September 11 to educate, answer questions and help community members enroll in the Healthy Michigan Plan, which became available on April 1, 2014.  The organization has partnered with the Kent District Library to offer computer access to assist community members with Healthy Michigan applications. Enrollment experts will be on hand for in-person assistance as well.  This event is free and open to the public, no reservation required.

Thursday, September 11, 2 – 6 p.m.
Kent District Library Wyoming Branch

Individuals and families should bring the following information:  Income documents (paycheck, W-2, tax return, social security award letter etc.), social security numbers and IDs for all applicants, and if applicable your username and password for your MiBridges account.

The Healthy Michigan Plan is available to residents between the ages of 19 and 64 who make up to about $16,000 a year, if single (or about $32,000 a year for a family of four). The Healthy Michigan Plan covers many services, including preventive and wellness services, doctor visits, hospital care, prescription medications, dental and vision services and much more – all while offering incentives for people who adopt healthier behaviors. At the same time, people with pre-existing conditions won’t be denied coverage, and copays and premiums – if they apply – are very low.

For more information, community members can contact Cherry Street Health Services via their dedicated toll free number, (866) 299-1339, or email to schedule an appointment for one-on-one application assistance.
