Cherry Health Celebration 2017

On Wednesday, November 1, the Foundation hosted its seventh Cherry Health Celebration presented by Lighthouse Group and Prime Maintenance/Spidle Contracting. This annual tradition is a key fundraising event supporting Cherry Health’s mission to improve the health and wellness of the communities we serve. We are delighted this year’s Celebration honored our partnership with Legal Aid of Western Michigan and the legacy of Robert J. “Bob” Eleveld during the event attended by nearly 350 guests. or 616.965.8267.

Cherry Health has partnered with Legal Aid to integrate attorney services into our multidisciplinary team. The first and only of its kind in Michigan, this innovative program addresses patients’ legal needs that adversely affect their health. In providing this service at Cherry Health, we are able to assist those who cannot afford counsel in matters such as unsafe or unsanitary living conditions, employment, loss of benefits or domestic violence.

Event proceeds benefit the Cherry Health Foundation which supports Cherry Health services to 71,000 patients who make nearly 700,000 visits a year for comprehensive medical, dental, vision and counseling services regardless of income or insurance. Of our health center patients, for whom income data was obtained, 96% are impoverished or below minimum wage.
